MFPR  is a full-service marketing and publicity firm in the entertainment industry. Our client roster has ranged from comprehensive corporate marketing strategy and public relations accounts like the Macintosh New York Music Festival and CMJ New Music Monthly, to legendary artists like Brian Eno and Jane Siberry, to the most cutting-edge in new music like Plastikman and Luke Slater, to up-and-coming acts like 7% Solution. We have always pushed the envelope by representing clients who introduce the press and public to new music, cultural ideas, developing scenes and we have been particularly successful with media campaigns for international artists, electronic music and technology as it relates to music. Here's a brief history of some of our favorite campaigns: Michelle Ferguson has 13 years professional public relations experience that encompasses marketing, technology, artist development and corporate strategy. mfpr is a small and personal shop. We limit our roster in order to better meet the needs of our clients. We have found our ability to respond effectively enhances our versatility and our understanding of the mercurial media landscape. Michelle Ferguson founded mfpr after leaving Susan Blond, Inc. where she represented Boy George, The Pet Shop Boys and EMI among other clients. At the beginning of 1994, she took The Connells with her and continued working their album Ring and doing their non-stop tour press. The single ‘74-’75 was gold-certified. Mammoth Records and a corporate campaign to celebrate its Fifth Anniversary was soon added to the client roster as well. In 1995, she went London where she represented Brian Eno. While there, she was heavily involved in the organization, development and international publicity of the Help UK album. The album was produced in 24 hours and featured top artists like Oasis, Radiohead, Massive Attack and Portishead. Its record-breaking sales went to benefit the children of war-torn Bosnia. Upon Michelle’s return to the states in 1996, she started up mfpr again. One of mfpr’s first clients was the Macintosh New York Music Festival/GIG ‘96, which received massive press including over 300 print stories and 4 hours of television reel with coverage from MTV, CNN, MSNBC and Asian-syndicated Science & Technology show. mfpr also began representing Gyroscope Records and its import releases licensed through All-Saints and Virgin UK. Many of these releases included the best of electronic and ambient music including Sourcelab2 and Harold Budd. mfpr continues its involvement with the electronic genre, having represented Laurent Garnier, Lunatic Calm, Luke Slater and Plastikman. We enjoy working with developing artists and have developed grassroots campaigns which have developed into major national press coverage for bands including Libido, Grace Braun and 7% Solution. We have also been honored to represent some of the most intriguing debut records of the year from UK bands Elcka, Statuesque, and My Life Story. mfpr is also well-known for consulting with new independent labels, corporate consulting and throwing some of the most exciting and talked-about launch parties and special events in the music industry--including their annual SXSW Rock 'n Roll High School Prom and the pioneer all-girl DJ benefit event Girl Groove.
